I've been a fan of Etude House for some time but it took me quite a while to actually try using one of the products the brand is best known for - BB Cream.
BB stands for Blemish Balm and to quote Mr. Wikipedia :D....
BB cream, also known as Blemish Balm or Blemish Base was initially used by dermatologists to help laser surgery patients protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive skin while providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne and other blemishes. Additionally, BB cream encourages skin regeneration and helps to maintain youthful skin.
Originally formulated in Germany, BB cream has in recent years gained a huge following for its skin-regenerating properties and is now also widely used in Asia to provide natural-looking skin coverage. Korean celebrities and cosmetic companies were the first to discover BB cream and the craze for this wonder cream, which beautifies while healing, has now spread from Korea to Japan to South East Asia and is already quickly making its way to Europe and the USA..
As to why there was hesitation in me to use the product, well upon initial look on BB Cream, honestly I thought it looked like liquid foundation.:) And I'm such person who hates foundation, really. I find it sticky and makes my skin itchy. On rare moments when my face gets covered with foundation, I feel that my skin cannot "breathe" properly.
However, since I've been reading a lot of raves about BB Creams, I finally decided to give it a try. I got the Precious Mineral BB Cream from Etude House since the label says that it promotes silky complexion with pearl infused sheer coverage and it contains adenosine and arbutin for anti-wrinkle and whitening. Plus, it has SPF for UV protection. Well, judging from the label, this particular type of BB Cream seems to offer more efficacy than the other BB Creams sold in the market.
I chose the Sheer Glowing Skin variant over the Sheer Silky Skin variant simply because I prefer the dewy look over the matte one.
Ok, so I've been using this product for a month now , as in everyday, and contrary to my initial assumption, it has lighter consistency than foundation and it does not feel sticky nor itchy ...at all. Of course, it ISN'T foundation to begin with, but more of a tinted moisturizer. And so far, I have not experienced any break out yet.
Here's how Precious Mineral BB Cream works on my skin. This is particularly the skin at the back of my hand... I don't have anyone at the moment who can take photos of me so I couldn't possibly use my face for this illustration.:D

there, see the glow?:) in real life, upon closer inspection, i could literally see my skin glittering |
If I were then to rate Etude House's Precious Mineral BB Cream from 1- 10, 10 being the highest, I would give it a perfect score! I just love how it gives sheer coverage and at the same time nourishes my skin with the active ingredients that it contains. I've mentioned that it took me a while to actually try using BB Cream but then again, it's better late than never. :D
Just a short anecdote to end this post, there was one time when the amount of BB Cream that was pumped out was too much for my use and so as not to waste it, I had no choice but to put it on my boyfriend's face who, luckily, was with me during that moment. Yes the man in him struggled but I insisted and told him I wouldn't want such great product to be put to waste. Anyway, the cream gives sheer coverage so I told him that it wouldn't make such drastic change on his complexion. He relented and to cut the story, the next day he asked for some BB Cream to be applied again on his face...boy, he loved it!haha...now that's another story...:D
Great review!Once my own BB cream runs out, I will definitely buy this one. Thanks! http://kayelangit-luistro.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteYes sis, I super love this product. I'm just a little bit worried though because I heard that this gets OOS in the stores really fast.:)
ReplyDeleteWhat brand of BB Cream are you using? Thanks :)
Right now sis, I'm using BB cream from another brand-Kiss Me, it's Japanese. But as soon as it runs out, eto na talaga ang bibilhin ko. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteLOL. The end part was funny. That's what I do too, my boyfriend ends up using products I got tired of using. I just can't make him try BB Creams, haha. he's complexion is a bit too dark for the bb creams I have here. And note, I sell them so typically, i have a lot of them available at hand, haha. even the darkest, missha 23 is still too light for him.
ReplyDelete@Patty, sis, gosh this is a super late reply lol...anyway, guess we're lucky that even with supposedly girly stuff like beauty prods, we get to bond with our boyfies :D happy indeed!:D
ReplyDeleteWhat's your bf's fave among your products?:D
